"Riding my bike is not something I do, it's a part of who I am. I just bought a 2005 Screaming Eagle V-Rod- it is my first new bike and I am
lovin' it! I rode a 1980 Iron Head (that was once my Father's) for 9 years (thanks Daddy). It's more than a thrill to ride next to him. I am a lucky kid, both my parents are involved with me and my club... Mom is Reverend
Windhorse, who is there for a Bike Blessing, a wedding or whenever we need a spiritual blessing. My family is very important to me and I am grateful that my husband accepts my bike and my club... my three kids don't know me any other way. The Iron Maidens are my other family; what we have is a sisterhood, bonded by our love for riding, and having fun."

ANNETTE
"I got into the love of riding - wind blowing in my face and the feel of engine beneath me when I was about twelve years old - riding my girlfriends brothers mini bike. From there, I went on to dirt bikes and then learning how to ride a motorcycle, that being a 750 Kawasaki. I swore to my parents that one day I would have my very own motorcycle and ride into Nathan's (Oceanside) being one of the few women who rode (can you believe how far we've come) and I did just that! Somewhere my dream was put on hold - I was still riding, but as a passenger. In 1989, I purchased my first motorcycle - a new 800 Suzuki Intruder - which over time was customized to the max and was in a number of different magazines. But then it happened - I fell in love with the Road King. For four years it was all I could dream of. In August of 2001 I purchased my 2002 Road King Classic. I named her the Road Queen. I love riding it!!! And I love the fact that when I first got into riding there were so few women riders - and now... It's great to see how many there are. Just look for the Wench and her Road Queen. Safe riding to all."

LAURA
Laura was our founding Secretary. She was involved in the motorcycle and hot rod scene for over 13 years. She rode a custom built 1990 1200
Sportster. It is a brightly colored candy magenta bike with wild graphics, which has appeared in many motorcycle publications
(Easyrider, Outlaw Biker, In The Wind, Biker, and Hot Bike). When she was not displaying her bike at motorcycle shows and rallies, she was a Special Education Teacher, who also worked part time assisting her fiancé in their custom motorcycle painting business. Laura died tragically while on an outing with her Special Ed children June 1, 2000. Laura is greatly missed. She was a very caring and loving person. She was given the Connie Leif Award which is the highest honor the staff of the Rosemary Kennedy School is able to bestow upon a another staff member.

PATTY
"I'm a '57 Classic, Registered Nurse, who hopped on the back at age 21 and have been on a Harley ever since! Got my first Sportster in 1987 and have since put over 50,000 miles on everything from a chopper to my current bike (2001
Lowrider). My favorite saying is: 'Dance like no one is watching, Love like you'll never be hurt, Sing like no one is listening, Live like it's heaven on earth." - William Purkey

LAURAJEAN
"I have always had the urge to learn to ride and own my own Harley...After years of feeling the glorious feel of the wind in my hair and the sunlight on my face I decided to do it without the big guy sitting in front of me...So when I'm not in my classroom with my first graders I'll be riding in the wind and sun..."

TRACY
"As a kid I was always looking at motorcycles as they passed by on the highway or the streets and thought it would be cool to have one. When I was 26, my ex-husband brought me dirt biking and I fell in love. I wound up buying one & rode that 1988 KX125 for a couple of years. A dirt bike was not enough for me though, so I bought a 1996 Suzuki GS500. Crotch rocket, I know, and I rode that when I was living in upstate New York. I had fun running around town on that bike, but since I did not have anyone to ride with, I got rid of it. I was bike-less for a few years but never lost the desire to get back on a motorcycle. In July of 2003, I took a trip to a Harley dealer just to check out some bikes. I had never lost the love of motorcycles but knew I only wanted a Harley. Those were the bikes I fell in love with as they loudly make their presence known. The dealer I went to had a 2002 Sportster XL1200 downstairs in its shop. It was already lowered, which was always a challenge for me at 52 and I left with a bill of sale in my hand. It took a few weeks for me to get back on the road, but I had wonderful friends and even strangers who invited me to ride with them. I was back on the road in no time, and never plan to leave it again. The ride is too much fun and the people are the best one could ever hope for."
